One of Birmingham’s leading independent accountancy firms Salhan Accountants has been named Independent Firm of the Year – Midlands at the 2016 British Accountancy Awards.

The forward-thinking firm, based on the Hagley Road in Edgbaston, was one of four local firms shortlisted for the prestigious national awards, but it was crowned as the winner for its excellent success in recent years and its outstanding range of services.

This is the second year in a row that the practice has won the Midlands’ top title at the prestigious national awards, which recognise the country’s best accountants.

The judges at this year’s awards were highly complementary of Salhan Accountants’ work and described the practice as “highly professional” and said that they had “shown integrity is vital to their values.”

This year’s awards ceremony, held at The Brewery in London, attracted more than 600 delegates to recognise the outstanding achievements made by Salhan Accountants and the other top firms who were named as award winners alongside them.

Speaking after the event Dr Anjulika Salhan, Director at Salhan Accountants, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen as the Independent Firm of the Year – Midlands, at the British Accountancy Awards 2016.

“These awards are one of the most important accolades in the British accountancy profession and we feel our continued success at these awards has cemented our position as one of the region’s top independent accountancy firms.”

This latest victory is not the first time Salhan Accountants’ expertise has been acknowledged and the firm has previously been named as a finalist in the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP) 2014/15 Private Client Awards in the Boutique Firm of the Year category and won the Corporate Livewire’s Midlands Accountancy Firm of the Year 2014 award. Earlier this year, the firm was also shortlisted in the Tax Investigations Team category at the Tolley’s Taxation Awards 2016.
